Q. How long does herbal medicine treatment take?We generally recommend 3-6 months as a standard treatment period. Acute symptoms may improve within 2-4 weeks, while chronic conditions may require 6+ months including constitutional improvement. We provide estimated treatment duration at your first visit.
Q. Can I combine with Western medicine?Western and Korean medicine can be combined. However, herbal prescriptions may need adjustment based on your current medications, so please inform us of all medications. Those taking sleep aids or antidepressants can gradually reduce medication dependency through Korean medicine treatment.
Q. What should I prepare for my first visit? Please bring a list of current medications and any existing test results. The first visit takes approximately 40-60 minutes including consultation, pulse diagnosis, and constitution analysis. Come in comfortable clothing.
Q. Are there side effects from herbal medicine?Side effects are minimal as we adjust herb types and dosages individually based on constitution and symptoms. Rarely, a healing crisis (Myunghyun reaction) may occur initially, which is a natural temporary response during the body's recovery process.
Q. Is insurance coverage available?Acupuncture, Chuna therapy, and insurance herbal medicines (Sihogayeji-tang, etc.) are covered by national health insurance. Customized herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture, and Gongjindan are non-covered items. Detailed costs will be explained at your first visit.
